Baptism of Noah

Zion Lutheran Church hosted an infant baptism on July 4, 2004. Noah Shelton Engel was welcomed into the Family of God through the ancient Biblical ceremony called the Sacrament of Baptism by Lutherans. The Sacrament was instituted by the early church as whole families were welcomed into the church, beginning in Acts. St. Peter himself, Jesus' disciple, proclaimed, "Repent, and let each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and your children, and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God, shall call to Himself." (Acts 2:38-39)

The Engel family with Ed and Eva Engel, proud grandparents, hosted a brief reception for the congregation in the fellowship hall after the service. Parents Connie and Kenny Engel recruited Kenny's brother and wife, Gary and Jan Engel, to serve as baptismal sponsors.
