     On this map, Rocky Creek and Fishing Creek are highlighted in blue.

    This area in Craven County, Camden District became part of Chester county in 1785. Two unrelated Blair families lived within 5-10 miles of each other in Chester County.

     On Fishing Creek lived James Blair born 1735 in Ulster, County Down, Ireland, died 1812 Chester County, South Carolina and wife Margaret (Junkins) Jenkins born April 6, 1739 in Cork County, Ireland, and died in Chester County, South Carolina. James is believed to be the son of William Blair b. Ulster, Ireland; d. Chester County, South Carolina. Participant #4288 is a descendant of James Blair. He is a member of Blair DNA Group 5.

     On Rocky Creek lived Thomas Blair, born 1729, County Antrim, Ireland, died 1796 in Chester County, South Carolina and his wife Margaret, born 1734, in Ireland. Participant ID# 5502 and 8466 are descendants of Thomas Blair. They are members of Blair DNA Group 4, proving that these two families are not related.
